Encore Youth Scholarship

Encore Youth Theater Scholarship Application: 2024

Initiated in 2005, and continuing each year as funds allow, the Encore Youth Theater, in association with the Hartland Players, will present a one-time scholarship of up to $500 to a graduating high school senior/s to be used at the college of their choice. There are many factors that go into the determination of the scholarship amount including but not limited to if applicant thoroughly filled out everything in the
requirements checklist below, Encore’s scholarship budget (which is determined by the board), and the number of applicants applying.

This scholarship recognizes students who have demonstrated special ability in and dedication to the theater. Recipients are not required to declare a Theater major.

Application / post mark deadline is Friday April 5, 2024.

Requirements Checklist:

Past or current member of Encore Youth Theater.
Cumulative high school grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Please include a copy of transcripts. (Applicant’s with lower GPA’s may be considered on special basis if they have been in 12+ Encore/Player shows)
Acceptance letter from the college of your choice.
Two (2) letters of recommendation – from a teacher, counselor or community leader who is
familiar with your artistic abilities (use attached form, copy as necessary).
Completed application form.
Essay response.
Complete this application form; respond to the short essay questions at the end using no more than two typewritten (12pt. Times New Roman), double-spaced pages.
Submit application, including all required documentation as listed above

The winner/s will be contacted by May 17, 2024. The check will be presented at Hartland High School’s Senior Awards Night, or mailed to students who attend other schools.
